Nationwide Co-Payment Program Exceeds Expectations in First Week
The government’s co-payment scheme, designed to alleviate the cost of living for citizens, has experienced an overwhelming response in its initial week. Data indicates that a significant portion of the monthly co-payment allowances have already been utilized by a large number of registered participants.
Key Program Metrics and Participation
As of Friday evening, the number of registered businesses participating in the program had reached nearly one million, demonstrating widespread engagement from merchants across the country. Total spending facilitated by the initiative since its launch on June 1 has surpassed 12.5 billion baht. This figure is broken down into 7.3 billion baht in government contributions and 5.24 billion baht paid by consumers operating under the 60:40 co-payment structure.
Consumer Registration and Benefits
Approximately 26 million individuals have registered for the co-payment scheme. The program offers each participant up to 4,000 baht to help offset daily living expenses. This benefit is available from June 1 through September 30. The government’s daily contribution is capped at 200 baht, enabling participants to spend a total of 333 baht per day. Monthly government assistance for individuals is limited to 1,000 baht.
Food Delivery Integration
Purchases made through participating food delivery platforms will become eligible for co-payment benefits starting June 15 and continuing until September 30. This applies to transactions made daily between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. Food and beverage vendors interested in joining the program via these delivery platforms can begin the registration process on June 10.
