Urgent Call for Unregistered Citizens to Apply for Welfare Assistance
The government is intensifying efforts to reach individuals who have been excluded from existing welfare databases, a move aimed at ensuring all eligible citizens receive necessary support. A dedicated registration channel has been established through local administrative bodies to facilitate applications for assistance.
Many individuals have mistakenly attempted to register or confirm their eligibility at banks, a process intended solely for those already listed within the system. This has inadvertently led to many deserving citizens being overlooked. Consequently, the Finance Ministry is strongly advising those not appearing in current databases to engage directly with local authorities for registration.
How to Register for Unlisted Welfare Applicants
Residents in provincial areas are encouraged to seek guidance from their village headmen and subdistrict headmen. For those residing in Bangkok and Pattaya, registration can be completed through district offices and by connecting with local officials. These authorities will be responsible for assessing applicants’ circumstances, verifying their submitted information, and assisting them throughout the entire registration process.
The initiative has garnered significant public attention, with over 1.5 million individuals already submitting their details via local administrative channels. The government is urging all remaining eligible citizens to complete their registrations before the approaching June 21 deadline.
Progress on Existing Welfare Card Holders
As of Thursday, approximately 11.8 million individuals currently holding State Welfare Cards have successfully completed their eligibility confirmation. However, around 1.38 million cardholders have yet to finalize this crucial step, according to recent information from the Finance Ministry released on Saturday.
The results of the qualification screening for all applicants are scheduled to be announced on July 17.
