Motorists Urged to Reroute for Princess’s Final Journey
Drivers are being advised to prepare for significant traffic disruptions on Saturday, as authorities have designated eight key roads that will be affected by a royal procession. The closures are necessary for the transportation of the late princess’s body from the hospital to Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall.
The Royal Household has announced the official route, set to commence at 3:30 PM on Saturday. The motorcade will begin its journey from the hospital on Henry Dunant Road. It will proceed through various thoroughfares before reaching its destination via the Wiset Chaisri Gate of the Grand Palace.
Designated Procession Route
The following roads are part of the planned route and may experience partial or complete closures:
- Henry Dunant Road
- Rama IV Road
- Phaya Thai Road
- Sri Ayutthaya Road
- Ratchadamnoen Nok Avenue
- Ratchadamnoen Klang Avenue
- Ratchadamnoen Nai Avenue
- Na Phra Lan Road
Authorities made the announcement on Friday, following the confirmation of the princess’s passing on Thursday night.
