The breakthrough came in the 32nd minute when Natthakit Phosri found the back of the net, breaking a period of scoreless play. Itthimon Tippanet extended Thailand’s lead just before the halftime whistle.
Cambodia attempted to mount a comeback in the second half, but Thailand’s defense held firm. Itthimon Tippanet scored his second goal of the match in the 80th minute, further solidifying Thailand’s advantage. The rout was completed eight minutes later with an own goal from Cambodian defender Udom Sean.

In the other semi-final, Australia narrowly defeated host nation Indonesia with a late goal. Marcus Neill scored the decisive goal in the 89th minute, booking Australia’s spot in the final.
Coach’s Perspective
Thailand U19 coach Jakkrapan Punpee acknowledged Cambodia’s strong start. “We have to praise Cambodia for making it difficult for us at the start of the match. But the first goal took the pressure off the players and from then on they could play the way they wanted to,” he stated following the match.
Looking ahead to the final, the coach emphasized the need for player recovery. “Now we have to focus on the players’ physical condition because we don’t have much time for recovery.”
Coach Punpee commended his team’s progress and resilience. “The players have done well to reach the final but there are still some mistakes which need to be addressed. But I have to commend the fighting spirit of the team. We didn’t have much time to prepare for the tournament but the players have given their best.”
