Sun Phu Quoc Airways is strategically expanding its presence in Thailand, viewing the kingdom not as a rival but as a crucial partner for fostering bilateral tourism and attracting international transit passengers. The Vietnamese carrier, owned by the prominent Sun Group conglomerate, aims to leverage Thailand’s robust travel infrastructure to enhance its own network and passenger flow.
La Vinh Nam, the airline’s deputy director of sales, announced that daily flights connecting Bangkok and Phu Quoc are slated to commence next month. This new route marks Phu Quoc Airways’ sixth international destination, joining existing services to Taipei, Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Chengdu.
