Investigation Underway After Grisly Discovery in Nonthaburi
Authorities responded to a distressing call late Thursday evening, arriving at a residence in Bang Rak Phatthana subdistrict of Nonthaburi to find a deceased individual. The discovery was made around 9 p.m. by police, forensic specialists, and rescue personnel.
The victim was located on a stairway landing within the two-story townhouse. Preliminary observations indicated the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, with significant dried blood present on the floor nearby. Investigators believe the individual had been deceased for at least a week.
Missing Homeowner and Drug Paraphernalia
Adding to the complexity of the case, a fanny pack containing syringes, suspected to be drug paraphernalia, was found at the scene. Meanwhile, CCTV footage from a neighboring property captured the homeowner exiting the residence alone at 6:19 a.m. on Tuesday. He was seen wearing a grey jacket, jeans, and a full-face motorcycle helmet. The footage shows him pushing a red motorcycle out of the property and riding away. The homeowner has not been seen or heard from since this departure.
Family Concerns and Dating App Connection
The victim’s mother, who resides in Chiang Mai, reported that her last contact with her son was on May 26. She revealed that, to her knowledge, her son had connected with the homeowner of the discovered townhouse through a dating application. The mother recounted waking up on the morning of May 27 to find seven missed calls from her son. Despite repeated attempts to reach him, she was unable to make contact, prompting her to file a missing person report with the police.
Neighboring Concerns and Past Incidents
A neighbor who initially raised concerns about the property noted a foul odor emanating from the house for approximately a week. On the evening of the body’s discovery, the neighbor scaled the rear wall of the property to investigate. While initially finding only the pervasive smell, shining a torch into the house revealed bloodstains near the staircase, leading him to alert the authorities.
The neighbor also stated that the townhouse owner appeared to live alone and that they had spoken occasionally. He reported observing different male visitors at the residence on a regular basis.
Previous Restraint Incident at the Property
The village head of Moo 6 in Bang Rak Phatthana recalled a prior incident at the same property. This earlier case involved a man who was held against his will within the house. Local authorities were involved in the rescue of that individual, who had reportedly been confined for three days without adequate sustenance.
According to the village head, unfamiliar individuals had been frequently seen at the residence over the years. She speculated that the deceased may have been lured to the property before his death, though no concrete evidence currently supports this theory.
Ongoing Investigation
Law enforcement is currently examining all evidence collected from the scene and conducting further inquiries to establish the precise cause and full circumstances surrounding the death. No arrests have been announced at this time.
