Multiple Fires Ravage Phichit Community
A devastating fire swept through the Phrom Jai community in Taphan Hin, Phichit province, yesterday evening, reducing three homes to ashes. The blaze, which broke out shortly after 8 p.m., quickly consumed the closely packed wooden structures. Firefighting crews from the municipality were dispatched immediately upon receiving notification.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found that the fire had already spread to three residences, identified by their addresses: 45/1, 44/2, and 44/3. Strong winds exacerbated the situation, prompting the municipality to request assistance from over 10 additional fire trucks from neighboring municipal and subdistrict offices. It took nearly an hour to bring the inferno under control.
Investigation Underway for Cause of House Fires
Fortunately, no fatalities or injuries were reported as a result of the residential fire. Following the extinguishment of the flames, the Taphan Hin district chief and the mayor of the municipality surveyed the damage. Initial observations suggest the fire originated in an unoccupied house that contained a substantial quantity of recyclable waste. This accumulation is being considered a potential trigger for the blaze.
Forensic investigators from Phichit are expected to conduct a thorough examination of the site to definitively determine the cause. Local authorities have pledged to provide support to the families affected by the destruction.
Electric Vehicle Engulfed in Flames in Separate Incident
In a startling turn of events, a second fire erupted in the same municipality at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Hanuman Soi. A parked electric vehicle, registered in Bangkok, suddenly burst into flames while situated roadside.
Two fire trucks that were still engaged in extinguishing the house fire were rerouted to address the burning EV. Firefighters found that spraying water directly onto the vehicle appeared to intensify the flames, leading them to focus on containing the blaze by spraying water around the vehicle. By the time this second fire was brought under control, the electric vehicle was a charred wreck.
The owner of the vehicle stated that she had experienced unusual behavior from the car while driving earlier that day and had contacted her insurance company. She was reportedly advised to park the vehicle outside her residence and arrange for a flatbed truck for collection and repair. However, the fire broke out overnight before the vehicle could be moved.
