Land Department Launches Probe into Alleged Golf Course Encroachment
Authorities have initiated a comprehensive investigation into claims of land encroachment, following the discovery of what appears to be a developed golf course on state-protected land. The Department of Lands has directed its officials to thoroughly examine the situation.
Preliminary Findings Reveal Previous Seizures
An initial review of records indicates that officials had previously seized two parcels of land in the affected area. These seizures, measuring 1.22 rai and 1.31 rai respectively, occurred in 2024 and 2026. Despite these prior actions, the investigation has uncovered extensive grass cultivation resembling a golf course, complete with irrigation systems connected to adjacent land currently under a claim of possession.
Identifying Current Land Occupant Underway
Investigators are now actively seeking official records to pinpoint the current occupant of a 13.5-rai plot. The original claimant for this significant parcel of land has reportedly stated that he sold the property several years ago. The department is working to trace the ownership and usage history to determine responsibility for the alleged encroachment and development.
