Canadian Educator Detained Over Student Assault Allegations
A 68-year-old Canadian national, identified as James Inkster, was arrested on Sunday in Prachuap Khiri Khan province in connection with an alleged rape of a minor. The apprehension was confirmed on Monday by Pol Col Korkiat Wuthichamnong, superintendent of the Anti Trafficking in Persons Division.
During initial questioning, the suspect reportedly told authorities that he was experiencing personal difficulties with his girlfriend and had chosen to reside with a friend in Prachuap Khiri Khan. Pol Lt Gen Nathasak Chaonasai, chief of the Central Investigation Bureau, stated that Mr. Inkster faces accusations of raping a 15-year-old girl. The alleged incident occurred at the victim’s residence in the Pak Chong district of Nakhon Ratchasima province in October of the previous year.
Details of the Allegation
Mr. Inkster, a former assistant principal at an international school situated near Khao Yai in Nakhon Ratchasima, had been employed as a private tutor for the young girl. Her parents had engaged his services to provide mathematics instruction at their home, a arrangement that had been ongoing for three years, with sessions held twice weekly. The accusation centers on an event that took place on October 20, 2025, when the girl’s parents were reportedly absent. It is alleged that Mr. Inkster requested the teenager to show him her bedroom, where the assault is said to have occurred.
Evidence and Prior Arrest
Authorities reported that a search of the suspect’s mobile phone revealed a significant collection of pornographic video clips and photographs. Investigations also indicate that Mr. Inkster had previously been arrested on similar rape allegations. He was reportedly released on bail following this earlier charge. Subsequent to his release, he is said to have systematically divested himself of assets, including gold, before relocating from Nakhon Ratchasima to Prachuap Khiri Khan.
