Authorities have arrested two individuals in connection with a child trafficking operation, leading to the rescue of two underage girls. The arrests were made after a series of complaints surfaced alleging that a local establishment was recruiting girls under the age of 18 and actively advertising its services online.
Investigation Leads to Arrests
The investigation culminated in the apprehension of Dararat Thamwanich, 51, the owner of the establishment, and Warin Promsopa, 37, a receptionist. Both have been charged with trafficking minors and procuring sexual services.
Reports indicate that the suspects utilized the popular messaging application, Line, to solicit and arrange sexual services with customers. To confirm these allegations, undercover police officers posed as clients, successfully arranging services before executing the arrests.
Minors Rescued, Evidence Seized
During the operation, two girls, aged 16 and 17, were located and subsequently taken to a welfare center for immediate care and support. Law enforcement officials also seized several items as evidence, including four mobile phones, two used condoms, and a notebook containing customer bookings.
Both Thamwanich and Promsopa have reportedly denied the charges levied against them. The investigation into the full extent of the operation is ongoing.
