The government has directed key agencies, including the police’s Technology Crime Suppression Centre, to implement enhanced preventative measures.
AI Bolsters Content Detection and Blocking
Artificial intelligence is being actively deployed to refine the identification and blocking of illicit digital material. This advanced technology aims to improve the speed and accuracy of detecting and removing harmful content from online spaces.
Significant Number of Illegal URLs Removed
Between October 1 and May 31, a substantial volume of illegal gambling URLs and scam links have been successfully blocked. Official figures indicate that a total of 673,699 such links were taken down during this period. The majority, 635,717, were removed under court orders, while an additional 37,982 were eliminated through cooperative efforts with online platforms.
Monthly Breakdown Shows Ongoing Efforts
The commitment to this online crackdown is evident in the monthly figures. In May alone, authorities managed to block 78,796 illegal URLs, underscoring the continuous nature of these operational endeavors.
