Gruesome Discovery in Din Daeng District
Authorities responded to a disturbing report early Wednesday morning, June 12, at approximately 1:35 AM, concerning a grisly discovery in the Din Daeng district of Bangkok. Responding officers, forensic specialists, medical personnel from Ramathibodi Hospital’s forensic unit, and rescue volunteers converged on a three-story residential building.
Signs of Struggle and Dismembered Remains
Upon entering a second-floor apartment, investigators observed clear indications of a struggle, with personal belongings strewn across the room. The investigation led to the rear balcony, where a large, sealed black plastic box was found emitting a strong, unpleasant odor. Inside this container, officers uncovered dismembered human remains, including an abdomen that had been cut open.
Preliminary assessments suggest the victim had been deceased for several days. Law enforcement is actively continuing the search for any missing body parts, notably the victim’s head.
Victim Identified as Myanmar National; Husband Sought
The individual is believed to be a 34-year-old national of Myanmar, who resided in the apartment and worked as a server at a restaurant located in the Klong Toey area. Information emerged that a relative of the victim, also from Myanmar, had previously reported her missing and requested assistance in checking the apartment where she lived. Formal identification is pending confirmation from Ramathibodi Hospital.
CCTV Footage Points to Husband
Surveillance footage from closed-circuit cameras captured the victim’s husband reportedly dragging a large suitcase from the apartment. The suspect, who is employed as a cook at a pub on Phetchaburi Road, is now being actively sought by police for questioning. Relatives have indicated that the man has been unaccounted for since the incident.
Potential Motive: Jealousy
Investigators are exploring the possibility that jealousy may have been the motive behind the alleged killing. Reports suggest the husband may have discovered his wife was involved with another individual.
