Twelve individuals, including ten Indian tourists, were successfully rescued on August 15th after their longtail tour boat capsized off the coast of Krabi, Thailand. The incident occurred while the group was en route from Ao Nang Beach to the popular Hong Island destination. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.

The Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park received notification of the capsizing and promptly dispatched a patrol boat to the vicinity near the Nong Thale subdistrict in Mueang district. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the longtail boat overturned and partially submerged in the sea.
Fortunately, a passing speedboat operated by Sayang Tour had already reached the distressed group. The speedboat successfully rescued all twelve individuals on board and transported them to the safety of Khlong Muang Beach. The group comprised ten Indian nationals, a tour guide, and the boat’s captain.
Injuries and Medical Assistance
Of the twelve people rescued, six sustained minor injuries. Emergency services, including an emergency medical team from the Nong Thale Subdistrict Administrative Organisation and the Krabi Pitak Pracha Foundation, provided immediate assistance. Three of the tourists required further medical evaluation and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Cause of the Capsizing
Preliminary investigations suggest that the longtail boat encountered a significant wave near Laem Hang Nak while traveling from Ao Nang Beach towards Hong Island. This large wave is believed to have been the direct cause of the vessel capsizing. The timely intervention of the passing tour boat was crucial in ensuring the safety of everyone involved.
