A shocking incident unfolded at a Sakon Nakhon school on June 12, when a Prathom 3 student, reportedly around nine years old, allegedly chased a female teacher while armed with a machete. The alarming event caused widespread fear among students before a school caretaker managed to de-escalate the situation.
Video footage circulating online depicted a teacher fleeing from a young male student who was brandishing a bladed weapon. Concerns have been raised about the student’s prior behavior at the school, with some parents reportedly having moved their children to other educational institutions due to previous incidents involving the same child.

According to accounts from social activist Ton Or Pen Nueng, president of the Be One Foundation, the incident began when the student became agitated after an argument with a classmate. When his homeroom teacher intervened and issued a warning, the boy reportedly became enraged, shouted at the educator, and was subsequently sent home with guardians notified.
However, reports indicate the student returned to the school premises a short time later, carrying a machete and attempting to confront the teacher who had disciplined him. The teacher fled and sought assistance, while other students and staff experienced significant distress.
Caretaker Intervention and Community Concerns
A vigilant school caretaker reportedly intervened, guiding the student to a more open area near the playground. Through a persuasive approach, the caretaker successfully convinced the boy to relinquish the weapon.
Sources in the community have indicated a pattern of aggressive behavior from the child, including alleged instances of harming classmates, bullying, making threats, and demanding money from other students. Previous discussions between the school and the child’s family had led to arrangements for online learning, but the student’s return to campus reportedly saw a worsening of his conduct.

This team is expected to evaluate the child’s circumstances, including his family background and behavior, to identify potential underlying causes and determine appropriate support.
