Investigation Underway After Disturbing Discovery in Bangkok
Authorities are actively investigating a homicide after the body of a Thai man was discovered concealed within a plastic container, buried inside a cannabis planter box at a Bangkok residence. The grim find occurred at a property located in a housing estate on Thoet Ratchan Road, Si Kan subdistrict, Don Mueang district.
Initial Reports and Escalating Concerns
Police were initially dispatched to the address around 10 p.m. on June 14 following reports of a physical altercation. An initial sweep of the premises yielded no immediate evidence of the reported disturbance. However, several hours later, at approximately 5 a.m., an individual identified as Phuwanai contacted law enforcement again, this time asserting that a murder had taken place at the same location. Despite officers again finding no obvious signs of foul play, the complainant remained insistent.
Detailed Search Uncovers Hidden Remains
A more thorough examination of the property by investigators led them to a suspicious room on the second floor. The room was found to be locked from the inside, with an air conditioner still operational. Upon forcing entry, officers observed scattered soil on the floor and noted a necklace situated near a planter box used for growing cannabis. This discovery prompted a detailed search of the planter itself, where authorities uncovered a buried plastic container.
Victim Identified, Cause of Death Determined
Inside the container, the body of a 34-year-old man, identified as Chaiyasit, the son of the homeowner, was found. Officials reported that the victim had sustained a stab wound. According to Phuwanai, four individuals were allegedly involved in the incident. He specifically identified one of the suspects as Suppakorn, claiming that this individual had engaged in an argument with Chaiyasit prior to the fatal attack. Police have not yet officially confirmed the specifics of the alleged dispute.
One Suspect Apprehended, Hunt for Others Continues
Officers from the Don Mueang Police Station have confirmed that one suspect has been arrested in connection with the case. The investigation remains active as authorities work to identify and locate the remaining individuals involved and to fully ascertain the circumstances surrounding Chaiyasit’s death.
This development follows a similar case reported in Bangkok last week, where the dismembered remains of a Burmese woman were discovered in a plastic container at a condominium. Her husband was considered the primary suspect in that incident.
