Tourist Injured in Pattaya Beach Altercation
A Bangladeshi tourist sustained facial injuries, including a nosebleed, after being physically assaulted on Pattaya Beach early on June 8. The incident occurred while the 48-year-old man, identified as Hasan, was walking with a group of friends.
Emergency services, including police from Pattaya City Police Station and Tourist Police, along with rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya, responded to the scene around 1:16 AM. First aid was administered to Hasan at the location. He reportedly declined further medical treatment at a hospital following the initial care.
Witness Account Details Unprovoked Attack
A witness, who identified herself as Chompoo, reported that the tourist and his companions, numbering between three and five individuals, were strolling along the beachfront when a homeless man approached them. According to Chompoo, the encounter was brief and devoid of any prior argument or confrontation before the unprovoked strike.
Chompoo further stated that the individual is a familiar presence in the Pattaya Beach area and has previously caused unease among those visiting the beach. The witness also suggested the man exhibited signs of mental distress and has been observed engaging in public indecency, such as urinating in public spaces.

This latest incident has reignited discussions among local residents and business owners regarding the presence of homeless individuals in public areas around Pattaya Beach. Reports indicate that community members have urged relevant authorities to conduct thorough assessments of the area, evaluate the needs of vulnerable individuals, and implement sustainable strategies to enhance public safety. The aim is to preserve Pattaya’s reputation as a desirable international tourist destination.
In a separate but related matter, authorities in Pattaya recently instructed a homeless man to vacate South Pattaya Beach. This action followed numerous complaints from both residents and tourists concerning his repeated public masturbation near the old pier, which raised significant concerns about public indecency.
