Four Spanish tourists sustained injuries when a large tree unexpectedly fell onto a walkway at the Ayutthaya Historical Park on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred at Wat Phra Si Sanphet, a significant temple within the UNESCO World Heritage site, which was once the royal palace of the ancient Siamese capital.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene following reports of the fallen tree. A mature flame tree, described as large, collapsed onto a path adjacent to the temple ruins, trapping several individuals from a Spanish tour group. The sudden event caused injuries to four members of the group.
Among the injured, three women sustained relatively minor wounds. However, one man suffered more severe trauma, including a fractured right rib and a significant fracture to his left leg. All four were promptly transported to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital for immediate medical attention and ongoing care.

The group consisted of 15 Spanish nationals who were exploring the historical park at the time of the incident.
