A suspect identified as Parinthorn surrendered to authorities at Karon police station on Tuesday, facing charges for encroaching on reserve forest land in tambon Karon, Muang district, near Freedom Beach.

The surrender comes amid ongoing inspections into the alleged encroachments, overseen by Pol Maj Gen Nuntachat Supamongkhol, assistant to the natural resources and environment minister, Phuket MP Chalermpong Saengdee, and Pol Col Phakkhayot Thanongsak, deputy chief of Phuket provincial police.
Authorities confirm Parinthorn’s involvement in four separate cases affecting approximately 10 rai of protected forest.

Pol Col Patthapee Srichai, chief of Karon police station, stated that investigators formally notified the suspect of the charges, conducted questioning, and recorded his fingerprints in line with legal protocols.
Officers emphasized a commitment to handling the case with utmost care and transparency, while collaborating with Phuket forestry officials to compile additional evidence for prosecution.
