Three Chinese nationals have been apprehended by authorities in Tak province following an alleged robbery attempt and damage to a police vehicle. The men, identified as Yang Luta, 28, Feng Zhengdao, 31, and Hu Pan, 32, were taken into custody on Friday.
Incident Details
The incident reportedly unfolded on Thursday evening along the road connecting Ban Sap Anan and Ban Phadi in the Ruam Thai Phatthana sub-district. Authorities allege that the suspects attempted to steal a motorcycle from a local resident. During the alleged attempt, they are also accused of using wooden sticks and stones to smash the windows of a police patrol vehicle, causing substantial damage.
Apprehension and Investigation
Local village leaders and law enforcement officers were alerted to the situation and responded swiftly. A pursuit ensued, culminating in the arrest of the three individuals.
Suspects’ Account
During initial questioning, the apprehended men reportedly stated they had been lured to work in a Myanmar-controlled territory under the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA). They claimed to have realized they were deceived and subsequently escaped across the border into Thailand via Phop Phra district.
The suspects allegedly admitted to being without funds and were seeking a means to travel to Mae Sot district. Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter and pursuing legal proceedings. The Chinese nationals face charges related to illegal entry into the country.
