A special ordination ceremony has taken place at Wat Rajabopit, bringing together 100 individuals to participate in a merit-making event following the recent passing of Princess Bajrakitiyabha.
Government-Sponsored Merit-Making Continues
The ceremony was overseen by Yupha Taweewattanakitborvon, the permanent secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, who represented the government at the solemn occasion. This government-sponsored program, designed to allow the public to express their condolences and participate in spiritual observance, remains open.
The Public Relations Department has announced that interested mourners can still undergo ordination until June 29. The program is being facilitated at four additional temples across the region.
Monastic Training and Mourning Period
Newly ordained monks will undertake studies in dharma and meditation. Their initial training will be conducted at Wat Rajabopit, followed by further instruction at the Meditation Studies Institute of the Supreme Patriarch, located in the Lam Luk Ka district of Pathum Thani.
The nation is currently observing a 15-day period of mourning, which commenced on Friday, in remembrance of the late princess.
