A senior Thai official has called on the Chinese ambassador to Thailand to prioritize building mutual understanding between the two nations, rather than solely advocating for Chinese interests. He stressed that the ambassador’s role should be to actively cultivate understanding. “Understanding must be created. Staying here, the ambassador’s main duty is to promote international relations and good understanding among people. So, in his statements, the ambassador must consider his duty instead of escalating movements,” Mr. Sihasak advised. He further elaborated that the core function of both the Chinese ambassador in Thailand and the Thai ambassador in China is to uphold and strengthen the positive relationship between the two countries.
