Bangkok is set to host the highly anticipated 2026 AFL Grand Final Family Day on Saturday, September 26, 2026. This vibrant event, organized by Legacy AustCham Thailand and the Thailand Tigers Australian Football Club, promises a full day of Australian culture, family entertainment, and sports enthusiasm at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park. The festivities will run from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, culminating in a live screening of the 2026 AFL Grand Final.
A Taste of Australia in Bangkok
The core attraction of the day will be the live broadcast of the AFL Grand Final, presented on large screens to replicate the electric atmosphere of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). This offers expatriate Australians and local fans in Thailand a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of one of Australia’s premier sporting events without leaving the city. The event aims to be a comprehensive celebration, blending sports viewing with a variety of activities designed for all ages.
DSGPay, a specialized payment service provider, is the primary sponsor for the 2026 AFL Grand Final Family Day. The company focuses on facilitating international payments, cross-border transactions, and multi-currency management through virtual accounts, promoting its services under the banner “Powering Borderless Payments.” Their involvement underscores the event’s international appeal and logistical requirements.
Family-Friendly Activities and Entertainment
Designed with families in mind, the event will feature a wide array of attractions. Children can enjoy dedicated entertainment, while adults can participate in traditional Final Day Footy Sweeps and a significant charity raffle. Culinary delights will include classic Aussie meat pies, alongside a selection of Australian beers, wines, and other refreshments. The event encourages attendees to immerse themselves in an authentic Australian sporting experience.
Seating Options and Dining Experiences
Attendees can choose their preferred viewing experience by selecting seating in either “The Hill” or “The Grandstand.” The Hill offers a relaxed, pub-style ambiance with cocktail tables and stools, set within the luxurious five-star hotel environment. In contrast, The Grandstand provides more formal seated table arrangements, ensuring comfort for all guests. Both sections are designed to offer excellent views of the Grand Final broadcast.
The culinary offerings are a significant draw, featuring an “at the game” inspired menu. Guests can savor gourmet meat pies from Lady Pie, indulge in an Australian street food-themed buffet, and enjoy fresh seafood. The all-inclusive beverage package covers a range of options, including local and imported beers, premium Australian wines, and soft drinks, ensuring a complete hospitality experience.
Kids’ Zone and Sporting Engagement
A dedicated Kids Room will be available, packed with activities tailored for younger attendees. The Thailand Tigers will also host a Handball target run, providing interactive fun and a chance for children to engage with the sport of Australian football. These elements ensure that the event is not just for avid sports fans but also a memorable outing for the entire family.
