Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is scheduled to visit Hanoi from June 8-9. The trip aims to further strengthen economic development cooperation and enhance efforts in preventing transnational crime between the two nations.
This upcoming visit follows a successful official trip to Thailand by Vietnamese Public Security Minister To Lam last Thursday. During Mr. To Lam’s visit, extensive discussions were held concerning the enhancement of bilateral relations. Sources indicate the talks took place in a positive and collaborative environment, underscoring the recognized importance of both countries as key members within the ASEAN community.
Following the recent elevation of diplomatic ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, both countries have set an ambitious target to increase bilateral trade to $25 billion, a notable increase from the current approximate $24 billion. The partnership also emphasizes broadening cooperation across several key sectors, including trade, investment, energy, and food security.
