DJ Assault Case: Suspect Fails to Appear for Questioning
Investigators have summoned a suspect in a recent DJ assault case who failed to meet a pre-arranged appointment with police. Pol Col Yodsawat Kaewsuebthannit, superintendent of Muang Khon Kaen police station, confirmed on June 17 that the individual, identified as Mr. Thanasak Phakchonakorn, did not present himself as agreed the previous day.
Reached by telephone, Mr. Thanasak cited stress stemming from the incident as the reason for his absence. He informed authorities that he had consulted a doctor and was attending to business matters in Bangkok. Mr. Thanasak pledged to report to investigators upon his return.
Questions Arise Over Committee Resignation
Pol Col Yodsawat also noted that Mr. Thanasak did not provide any documentation formally confirming his resignation from the Police Audit and Monitoring Committee (กต.ตร.), despite his claims. The committee itself had not officially notified the Khon Kaen police station of any resignation, leaving Mr. Thanasak’s photograph and his standing position within the committee unchanged.
However, the chairman of the committee indicated that Mr. Thanasak had submitted a written resignation, which was expected to be delivered to investigators later the same day.
Assurance of Fair Investigation
Pol Col Yodsawat assured the public that the case would be handled impartially, irrespective of Mr. Thanasak’s affiliation with the committee. The investigation into the DJ assault is proceeding, with authorities emphasizing a commitment to fairness for all parties involved.
