Tragedy Strikes as Young Girls Clash Over Mobile Device
A devastating altercation over a mobile phone has led to the death of a seven-year-old girl in Sangkhla Buri district. Authorities report that her thirteen-year-old stepsister is accused of causing her death during a dispute on the afternoon of May 30th.
The incident occurred at a residence in Ban Thi Khrong, within tambon Prang Play. Both girls shared the same mother but had different fathers. Investigators were informed by the mother that the stepsisters frequently argued and fought, particularly concerning the use of their mobile phone.
Body Concealed Before Discovery
Following the fatal incident, the seven-year-old’s body was reportedly hidden inside a wardrobe. Later that evening, the mother’s seventeen-year-old brother is alleged to have transported the body to a nearby rubber plantation, approximately 600 meters from the home. A sack believed to have been used to carry the body was subsequently burned in the vicinity.
The mother has expressed profound shock following the revelations from investigators. Both the thirteen-year-old suspect and her seventeen-year-old uncle had initially remained silent regarding the younger stepsister’s disappearance.
Investigation Continues, Support Offered
Mental healthcare professionals are scheduled to provide counseling to the grieving mother. The seven-year-old’s body was recovered on June 1st. Preliminary examinations of the deceased reportedly revealed signs of sexual assault, though this aspect is part of an ongoing police inquiry. The two minors are considered prime suspects in the case, and the investigation is actively continuing.
