The case came to light on June 25 when Australian Border Force officers apprehended a 26-year-old airline employee, identified as Meena, at Melbourne Airport. During a routine baggage inspection prior to a flight, officers discovered heroin concealed within her luggage. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is approximately US$500,000. Meena has since been denied bail, with her next court appearance scheduled for September 14 at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.

Crucially, investigators have now identified the person responsible for transferring the 8,800 baht (approximately US$240) courier payment to Meena. However, the identity and nationality of this individual have not yet been publicly disclosed. Pol Capt Suriya indicated that further arrests related to this network are anticipated in the immediate future, potentially within the next one to two days.
