Two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, have been apprehended in connection with the alleged stabbing of a vocational student in Bangkok’s Bueng Kum district. Authorities utilized CCTV footage to track down the suspects.
Arrests Made Following Incident
On May 30, Metropolitan Police Bureau commander Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom oversaw the arrests of the two individuals, identified as “A,” aged 14, and “B,” aged 15. Investigators reportedly recovered a motorcycle and a short knife, believed to be the weapons used in the assault.
The incident occurred on the evening of May 29, around 6:55 p.m. The victim, identified as “C,” a 15-year-old vocational student, was riding a motorcycle with three friends in Soi Nawamin 161 after school. According to reports, the two suspects pursued the group and forced them to stop. “B” then allegedly dismounted and stabbed “C” in the abdomen before both suspects fled the scene.
Confession and Charges
Investigators determined that “A” was operating the motorcycle during the pursuit, while “B” carried out the stabbing. Following their apprehension, the suspects were brought to Khok Kram Police Station for questioning. Both individuals reportedly confessed to the assault, attributing the motive to a road dispute and a prior verbal confrontation. They now face assault charges and have been transferred to investigators for further legal proceedings.
Separate Incident in Nonthaburi
In an unrelated incident, an 18-year-old vocational student is in critical condition after being stabbed twice in Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi, on the afternoon of May 30. Officers responded to the scene around 5 p.m. to find locals attempting to provide aid for stab wounds to the student’s back and cuts on his hands. The injured student was transported to Bang Bua Thong Hospital.
Witnesses reported seeing three teenagers arrive on two motorcycles, two of whom were armed with weapons described as machete-like knives. Following a street argument, the victim was initially stabbed, fled, and was then reportedly stabbed again near a guardhouse. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects involved in this separate incident.
